Eve's Place: Empowering Victims of Abuse

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all in countless ways. Among the impacts to public health has been a rise in domestic abuse around the world. Countries throughout Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas have reported an increase in domestic violence within days of the imposition of lockdowns. Shelters are struggling to keep up with demand, especially since they must also reduce capacity to maintain social distancing measures. In addition, lockdowns can result in the deterioration of social networks: the family and friends of victims are unable to see the signs of abuse, which can lead to a decrease in official reports of domestic abuse.

It has become obvious to us that domestic abuse victims need support from all of us. Eve's Place is a West Valley-based non-profit that supports victims of domestic, sexual, and teen-dating abuse through mobile advocacy services. Their programs bring assistance and services to abuse victims in rural areas who historically have not had options to reach out for help. These programs include safety planning, support groups, transportation to victim-related services, and relocation assistance.

Through the month of July, we will be donating 5% of proceeds from all sales to Eve's Place. We hope you'll take the time to learn about the amazing work they are doing to help victims of abuse and consider offering your support.

Love,
Denise & Zach
