This beautiful Olivewood French Press from Hario is one of our favorite items in our shop. The simple, yet classic design makes for a great addition to anyone's kitchen. The glass body is heatproof and easy to pour into your favorite mug.
The glass body also features volumetric indicator lines to help guide you on the perfect amount of water for your french press, as well as ensuring consistency from brew to brew.
Product Details:
- 5 '' x 7 '' x 4.5 '', and holds 600 ml, roughly 2 cups
- Heatproof glass body with olivewood lid and fine mesh filter
- Produced by Hario in Japan
Empower Recipe:
- Grind 55-60 grams (about 1/3 cup) of coffee coarsely ground
- Boil filtered water to between 195 and 205 degrees (hotter for lighter roasts, cooler for darker roasts)
- Add ground coffee to body, then fill with water about halfway, making sure to saturate the grounds
-Let sit for roughly 1 minute from when you first started pouring the water, then stir grounds
-Add the rest of the water up to the 600 ml line (make sure you are pouring water to 600 ml line, not just the top of the grounds)
- Cover with olivewood lid and let sit for another 3 minutes (4 minutes total since first pour)
- Once 4 minutes have elapsed, slowly press the plunger all the way down. You should feel moderate resistance.
- Pour your coffee and enjoy!
Note: Some recommend letting your coffee sit for longer than 4 minutes; it's worth it to experiment and see what works best for you, but 4 minutes is the least amount of time you should take to brew.
